
Arlington's very own Director of Communication and Legislative Affairs Jay Warren, took center stage at this year's City County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) conference, walking away as the 2024 Communicator of the Year. Warren's recognition was the result of a rigorous nomination process that took note of his leadership in 3CMA, The Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO), and his involvement in numerous local organizations.
Molly Fox, the President of TAMIO, highlighted Warren's attributes, "Jay’s creativity, leadership, and dedication to inclusivity have set him apart as an innovator in government communications". His contributions to Arlington, and the communication community, have shown to be impactful, and long-lasting. Aside from Warren's accolades, the City of Arlington’s Office of Communication also cleaned up at the awards, securing 11 honors, making it the city with the most awards nationally in this year’s Savvy Awards program, according to the City of Arlington.
The Savvy Awards celebrate the crème de la crème of local government initiatives in the spheres of communications and marketing. These awards give a nod to the adept professionals behind successful public campaigns. The 3CMA program accommodates by sizing up entries against peers in similar population categories. It's noteworthy that this year saw more than 1,100 entries from over 400 organizations.
