Austin's dining landscape sees yet another innovative expansion as Gabriela's Group launches La Searienta, a compact diner variant of its Seareinas concept in East Austin. This new offering by the Latin-owned restaurant giants occupies a former Whataburger spot at Burleson Road, with plans to introduce drive-thru service featuring micheladas, cocktails, and a curated menu reflecting its Sinaloa-style seafood origins. The trimmer design allows for a focused dining experience, aligning with modern fast-paced lifestyles.

This latest venture represents the 13th project under Gabriela Bucio's leadership, and the 11th in the Austin area since the inception of her business empire back in 2018. Despite facing challenges as a Latina entrepreneur, Bucio's venture has gained remarkable traction across the restaurant and nightlife sectors. "Some people do try to discredit me just because I am a woman of color," Bucio shared with KXAN. Her portfolio now encompasses two Gabriela’s locations, Taquero Mucho restaurants, a coffee shop, a churreria, multiple nightclubs, and the seafood establishments Seareinitas and La Searienta.

Insight into the food at these establishments reveals a personal touch, with dishes inspired by Bucio's upbringing and familial culinary traditions. "A lot of them are inspired by dishes that we grew up eating and it is just a lot of home recipes," said Bucio, as reported by KXAN. With more than 600 employees and a commitment to women-led management teams, Gabriela's Group adds a distinctive Hispanic feminine energy to Austin's social and culinary scene. This approach, according to Bucio, differentiates her venues, creating spaces where traditional masculine themes intersect with bold female leadership.

The expansion is not merely a matter of quantity for Bucio, whose ambitions reflect a passion for her work and Mexican heritage. I am super proud to be a Latina. I am super proud to be Mexican," she told KXAN. Alongside a palpable passion for her culture and enterprise, there is a tangible recognition of her Austin support network. "I am really proud of everyone that helps us, everyone that supports us, and I am really grateful," affirmed Bucio. This outlook has been a cornerstone, as she navigates the complexities of entrepreneurial growth, and champions diversity in a competitive industry.

Further details about La Searienta, including its downsized menu and the soon-to-launch drive-thru service, are available through KVUE. The recent stride in the group's development signifies an adaptation to consumer habits and reinforces Bucio's assertion that, despite her substantial success, "I could be doing more honestly.” These growth markers indicate an enthusiastic response to Bucio's entrepreneurial spirit and showcase her continuing aspiration to infuse Austin's food and entertainment scene with authentic Latin flair.
