
Authorities announced the arrest of 24-year-old Shakur Eldridge in connection with an attempted murder that transpired on August 11 in the Eastern District. According to a post shared by the Baltimore Police Department, Eldridge, reportedly involved in a social media sale gone violently wrong, allegedly lured an 18-year-old to the 1800 block of North Caroline Street with the pretense of selling a vehicle.

In reference to the shooting that occurred in the Eastern District on August 11, 2024, investigators have arrested 24-year-old Shakur Eldridge of Baltimore.

The interaction between Eldridge and the young buyer swiftly deteriorated; after a brief conversation, Eldridge was accused of pulling a gun on the victim, demanding his possessions, and shooting him in the foot. The incident ended with the victim managing to escape, later seeking treatment at a local hospital for the gunshot wound. Baltimore Police identified and secured an arrest warrant for Eldridge by August 27.
Baltimore Police first reported that Eastern District officers responded to a hospital where the victim, who was injured but not in grave danger, was being treated. This led to an investigation and Eldridge’s arrest on August 30. He was taken to Central Booking and faces charges, including attempted first-degree murder.
