A body was discovered in the Fox River at Frame Park in Waukesha on Thursday morning by city forestry workers around 9:30 a.m. According to FOX6, the identity of the deceased and the cause of death are still unknown.
Police have since disclosed that the body is that of a man who was dressed in shorts at the time of recovery, with nearby articles of clothing also found on the scene and despite the fact that police tape cordoned off sections including the west-side bike path known as Fox River Trail, it seems local traffic was largely undisturbed as mentioned in WISN's coverage.
The efforts of the Waukesha Fire Department enabled the successful retrieval of the body from the river, and while officials noted an absence of obvious trauma on the body, details surrounding the event remained sparse. The investigation into this matter is active, spearheaded by the local police in cooperation with the Waukesha County Medical Examiner's Office, in a bid to ascertain both the identity of the deceased male and cause of death, as detailed by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
