A police officer from Bolivar, Tennessee, has found himself at the center of a theft and misconduct case. The initial traffic stop, which took place on August 8, was conducted due to improper passing. The driver, operating a Ford F-150 on a revoked license, was arrested, and his vehicle was subsequently towed to the Bolivar Police Department, as reported by Action News 5.

However, when the driver went to collect his items from his towed vehicle on August 13, he soon noticed that a toolbox was missing from his truck bed. An investigation ensued, which included reviewing surveillance footage, eventually leading to uncovering the Bolivar police officer, Granville Lloyd, as the individual who appears to have been caught on camera extracting the toolbox from the pickup truck and stashing it into his patrol car. FOX13 Memphis reports that the toolbox was later found at Lloyd's residence.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation took over the case and their probe culminated with Lloyd, aged 32, being indicted by the Hardeman County Grand Jury on charges of official misconduct and theft. He was booked into jail on Wednesday and released on a $10,000 bond, details of which were mentioned in coverage by WREG.

Lloyd's indictment on September 3 comes after he was terminated from his position with the Bolivar Police Department on August 27, as the city of Bolivar confirmed to FOX13 Memphis. He was initially hired by the department in December 2021.
