A tragic collision on a South Texas highway has resulted in the death of a Border Patrol agent. Yesterday, at approximately 8:45 p.m., 46-year-old agent Brandon Brown was en route to work when his 1998 Lexus ES was struck head-on. The crash occurred on FM 70 east of Kingsville, according to KSAT.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reports indicate that a 2023 Dodge Charger, driven by Eva Rosa, 39, of Bishop, veered into the oncoming lane, directly into the path of Brown's vehicle. While the reason behind Rosa's swerve into the opposing lane remains under investigation, the aftermath was immediate and devastating. Following the collision, Brown's vehicle was sent off the roadway, coming to rest in a ditch. "The male driver from the white vehicle had to be extricated from the driver seat," Nueces County Precinct 3 Constable Jimmy Rivera shared in a Facebook post.
Both drivers were transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital, where agent Brown succumbed to his injuries. The condition of Rosa following the incident was not immediately clear, with no update provided on her status. As an agent assigned to the Kingsville Border Patrol Station and a 21-year veteran, Brown leaves behind a legacy of dedicated service. KRISTV mentions his role as a Border Patrol Agent for the Kingsville sector.
