Community members and the Boston Police Department (BPD) closed out the summer season on a high note with District A-7's final flashlight walk, an event that saw residents and officers walk together under a canopy of stars. The flashlight walk, a tradition meant to foster community engagement and trust, also served as a back-to-school celebration for local youth, with the BPD's Community Service Office and Detectives joining forces with Armor Security, Boston Housing Authority, and the Bureau of Community Engagement (BCE) to make the evening a glowing success.

During the nighttime outing, the official police report highlighted the participation of the BPD ice cream truck, underwritten by HP Hood and the Boston Police Foundation, which provided sweet treats to participants, and kids received more than just ice cream—they walked away with backpacks and BPD hats to equip them for the upcoming school year adding to the festive atmosphere.
