According to KDVR, there has been no significant growth in the affected area, remaining at approximately 128 acres after witnessing a slight decrease from an earlier figure of 138 acres. Firefighting teams have managed to bring the fire to 5% containment.
With over 150 personnel tirelessly working on the ground, the battle against the blaze involves significant aerial resources. Informing on the firefighting strategy, "Several Scooper planes arrived Tuesday to support air attack efforts," as detailed by The Denver Gazette. Drawing water from the proximate Carter Lake, these aircraft have inevitably led to the suspension of regular lake activities.
With the community's safety in the balance, evacuees have sought refuge in the Livermore Community Church, recognized as an overnight evacuation shelter. The church, accommodating also animals, provides solace amidst the time of crisis. The local community has shown unity, "We stand ready to protect this community," Sheriff John Feyen said, as reported by CBS News.
