Residents in Dallas should keep their rain gear handy as the forecast calls for continued showers and potential thunderstorms. Today’s weather is expected to stay cloudy with a 50% chance of rain, and new rainfall amounts could be less than a tenth of an inch, although thunderstorms might lead to higher totals, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
As temperatures tonight hover around a low of 74, the NWS also points to a slight chance of showers continuing into the early hours. With the wind slightly picking up from the north at 5 to 10 mph, a 20% chance of precipitation will linger through the night. Meanwhile, during the day, the weather will undergo a gradual shift with Wednesday anticipating slight chances of showers followed by a clear sky and a high near 89.
Looking ahead, the forecast advises sunnier skies with temperatures steadily climbing. Thursday should welcome a mostly sunny atmosphere and a high peaking at 92, and conditions remain clear through Saturday, with daytime highs settling comfortably in the high 80s. Sunday's outlook continues the trend, promising ample sunshine and an equally balmy high near 88.
The NWS also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for North and Central Texas due to the potential for ongoing thunderstorms, primarily situated west of the I-35 corridor. "Severe weather is not
anticipated, but additional rainfall in areas that have already seen considerable amounts could result in flooding," the statement warned. With the earth already saturated in some sectors, residents should prepare for conditions that may affect roadways and low-lying areas.
