
Delaware State Police are currently investigating a robbery that took place at Tacos Chabelita in Laurel, as reported by the Delaware State Police website. The incident occurred late last night, at around 10:22 p.m., when an unidentified suspect reportedly assaulted employees, damaged property, and took off with cash.
According to the law enforcement's initial findings, the suspect, described as a black male of medium build and between 5'10" – 6'2" tall, entered the restaurant and proceeded to violently remove money that was placed on a table. The assailant did not only steal but also shattered windows, battered a vehicle in the parking area, and used a hammer to assault another individual. Despite immediate efforts to search the vicinity, the police were unable to locate the suspect just following the crime. The victims, fortunately, sustained only minor injuries.
As of now, there are no surveillance videos or images available to the public. However, Delaware State Police Troop 4 is diligently working on the case and has urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Det. D.
