
Today, a fire broke out in an apartment complex in Dundalk, injuring four and displacing several residents and pets. Firefighters were called to the 2100 block of Cameron Drive after reports of a blaze that began shortly after midnight. According to the Baltimore County official release, the first responders arrived to find the building partially engulfed and multiple people trapped inside.
The team from Engine 61, from the Dundalk station, was able to begin to search and rescue the occupants quickly. Their efforts resulted in six people being rescued from the burning structure. Of these, one individual sustained serious injuries while three others suffered minor injuries, necessitating their transport to nearby hospitals for treatment. The exact nature of their conditions has not yet been disclosed.
The Red Cross is providing support for those affected by the tragic incident. They are assisting 12 displaced residents and seven pets, ensuring they have a place to stay and the basic necessities during this challenging period.
The fire was reported to be under control by 1:21 a.m. Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department's arson unit are leading the current investigation into its cause.
