Last weekend, the effort to curb drunk driving was spotlighted at a Minnesota Twins game, where local law enforcement officers were recognized for their vigilance against driving under the influence. Notably, EPPD Officer Chad Streiff stood among his peers, being honored as part of the Minnesota DWI Enforcer All-Star Team for his impressive record of arrests in this ongoing public safety campaign.
As highlighted in the EPPD Blog, Officer Streiff's achievement includes a substantial tally of 156 arrests in the year 2023, marking him as second highest in the metro area for DWI apprehensions. This figure contributed to the staggering total of 4,533 arrests made by the DWI Enforcer All-Stars last year, revealing a relentless drive to ensure safer roads for Minnesotans.
The accolade is not new for Officer Streiff, who joined the ranks of EPPD a decade ago. The consistent recognition boasts a ten-year streak as an All-Star, an enduring testament to Streiff's dedication. While the celebrations at the ballgame drew attention to past accomplishments, the officer's commitment persists, with a report of 92 DWI arrests already made in 2024.
Commendation for these endeavors extends beyond formalities, as a collective appreciation for the law enforcement community's effort to protect from the hazards of impaired driving. "Thank you to Officer Streiff and the other DWI Enforcer All-Stars for helping to keep our roadways safe from drunk drivers," states the EPPD Blog, a sentiment undoubtedly shared by countless citizens who traverse Minnesota's roadways daily.
