The City of Euless has announced a solemn observance to honor those who fell during the catastrophic events of September 11, 2001. According to the City of Euless, the community is invited to gather on Wednesday, September 11, at 9 a.m., at the 9/11 Memorial Fire Administration Building located at 201 N. Ector Drive. The ceremony will pay tribute to the valiant lives lost and particularly honor the heroic actions exhibited during one of the nation’s darkest times.
Euless is custodian to a poignant piece of history: a 12-foot-long, 6,000-pound steel beam recovered from the wreckage of the World Trade Center. This significant artifact is permanently displayed in front of the Euless Fire Administration Building, serving as a physical reminder of the thousands of lives extinguished on that tragic day.
The local memorial offers a space for reflection and education. It stands as an enduring testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of extraordinary adversity. Community members are encouraged to attend the ceremony, which will include moments of silence and dedicated remembrances for the individuals who perished in the attack and subsequent rescue efforts.
