On a routine patrol through the streets of Vallejo, an enforcement stop turned up more than just an expired vehicle registration. Vallejo Police officers noticed a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe parked at Marin and Ohio streets last Thursday with two individuals inside. A closer look at their license plate revealed a sticker falsely claiming a 2025 expiration when, in fact, the registration had lapsed since 2021, according to a post on the Vallejo Police Department's Facebook page.
Continuing with the stop, the officers engaged with the Tahoe's occupants. Immediately, the officers found, inside the car, a glass pipe consistent with methamphetamine use, which led to the arrest of the adult female driver for possession of drug paraphernalia. Upon a records check, the male passenger came back with $51,500 in outstanding warrants covering charges of burglary and fraud, accompanied by the revelation of his status as a convicted felon. Despite that, he had a fully loaded, unserialized firearm nearby when he was arrested at the scene for his pending legal transgressions.
The story further unfolds as the female driver's car, due to registration expired over six months, was towed and subjected to an inventory search. Amidst the routine proceedings, Vallejo Police discovered the untraceable firearm on the floorboard and a small bag suspected to contain methamphetamine, sharply escalating the stakes for the individuals involved.
