In a somewhat unusual burglary attempt in Fairfield, a man was caught trying to enter a residence through the doggy door. Last Sunday, Fairfield Police were called to a home on the 1600 block of Flamingo Drive. A vigilant homeowner, who was away then, spotted the intruder on their home surveillance system and promptly alerted the authorities, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that the suspect had taken items from the home and staged them on the porch. The sounds from within the house indicated someone was still present. It was then that a man, later identified as James Jackson, bolted from the house, trying unsuccessfully to evade the police by hiding behind a tree in a neighboring yard.
The Fairfield Police had the foresight to create a perimeter around the scene, spotting Jackson as he attempted his paltry concealment. Jackson, found with stolen goods in his possession, had been on Post-Release Community Supervision for a prior burglary offense. The Fairfield Police's quick response led to his immediate arrest and booking into Solano County Jail.
