Fairfield Police Arrest Two Suspects Accused of Violent Theft Involving Bear SpraySource: Fairfield Police Department

Two suspects have been taken into custody by the Fairfield Police Department after a reported theft turned violent. According to the Fairfield Police Department, the incident began on Sunday when a man and a woman entered a business on the 1300 block of West Texas Street. A confrontation ensued when the woman allegedly attempted to shoplift a bandana.

As a store employee confronted them, the man retaliated by using bear spray on the employee, causing injury. Following the attack, several other people inside the store also suffered from the effects of the bear spray, subsequently leading to their evacuation. Fleeing the scene, the two suspects remained at large until the following day. Running into the duo at another store, the same employee quickly called the police, prompting their apprehension.

Upon their arrest, the police were able to recover the bear spray, identified as the couple's weapon of choice during the theft. Both individuals have since been booked into the Solano County Jail.
