The search for Emily Suzanne Locke, a 47-year-old woman reported missing since July, has intensified as local authorities and family members appeal to the public for assistance. Locke was last observed in the vicinity of Venture Parkway near Duluth, according to an appeal distributed by the Gwinnett County Police Department. In a statement obtained by FOX5 Atlanta, Locke's daughter, Anna Rice, expressed an urgent need to ensure her mother's safety, stating, "We just want to make sure that she’s okay."
Having reported her mother missing on July 15, Rice reminisced during a FOX5 Atlanta interview about the once-weekly phone calls that ceased abruptly in May. She shared the distress of missing those maternal comforts that disappear with her mother: "The moment that something goes wrong, or something happens, and every girl’s first instinct is that they want to go to their mom and that’s when it hits me that I can’t." Locke apparently struggled with mental health issues just before moving closer to family in Duluth for support and potential treatment at Grady Memorial Hospital. Rice recounted her mother's auditory troubles, saying, "These voices just talking to her, she would believe whatever it was she was hearing."
Described by the GCPD as 5-foot-8 with hazel eyes and weighing 165 pounds, the missing woman has distinctive tattoos—a phrase "Fear Drives Faith" on her right forearm and a duo of hearts on her right shoulder. As the 11Alive report states, there were no additional details provided about the circumstances that led to Locke's disappearance following the July 15 report made by a family member.
GCPD encourages anyone with information on Emily Locke's whereabouts or any sightings of her to act by contacting 911 immediately. Emphasizing Locke's character, Anna Rice told FOX5 Atlanta, "She’s one of the nicest people and has one of the most caring hearts."
