
Earlier today, a fire erupted within a commercial building located at the intersection of Pan Am Way and Corpus Christi Road in Alameda, requiring emergency services to respond quickly. According to the Alameda City Fire Department, the incident was reported at approximately 10:37 a.m., summoning three engines, two trucks, one medic unit, and one chief officer to the scene.
Upon arrival, the first units witnessed smoke emerging from the second story of the building and declared a working fire; subsequently, to fully engage, they called in an extra medic unit. The firefighters swiftly made their way inside, searching for any potential victims while also trying to locate the source of the flames. They found the fire spreading through a second-floor room into the central hallway. Despite the intensity of the fire, they managed to bring it under control within about 25 minutes.
Neither civilians nor firefighters reported any injuries during the harrowing event. Altogether, 24 firefighters from Alameda City were on hand to battle the blaze. Assistance from the Oakland Fire Department was crucial, as they provided city coverage. At the same time, other entities like Alameda Police, Alameda Municipal Power, and PG&E came forward to offer support at the scene.
