
Seattle Police have taken into custody five teenagers connected to a car theft incident in North Seattle, reports indicate. The suspects, between the ages of 13 and 15, were apprehended following a series of events that began with a vehicle collision near the Burke Gilman Trail and Northeast 65th Street on September 12.
After the collision, the juveniles were seen fleeing from a stolen car, only to pile into another stolen vehicle parked close by, attempting to make a getaway. Despite their efforts, officers were able to locate the suspects near Sandpoint Way Northeast and Northeast 75th Street, according to SPD Blotter. The teens crashed their vehicle into a dead end and continued their escape on foot, with the car reportedly still in motion.
Three individuals were immediately taken into custody after a foot chase ensued. The remaining two suspects were later found and arrested. As a result of these actions, they're facing charges that include possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding police, taking a motor vehicle without permission, and obstructing a public officer, as per SPD Blotter.
All five suspects were booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center following their arrest. The ongoing investigation into the incident is being carried out by the General Investigations Unit.
