Investment in infrastructure and leisure continues to shape the growth of Franklin County as the Board of Commissioners seal deals on two key projects aimed at economic development and community enrichment. In a bid to foster a more business-friendly environment, the construction of Triangle North Franklin Business Park Phase II Road was awarded to Cardinal Civil Contracting, LLC with a hefty price tag of $1,994,228, ensuring future industrial partners have a place to root their operations right at the intersection with Airport Road complete with essential utilities, according to an announcement from the Franklin County.
The county's efforts to expand recreational space continue, as commissioners approved H.G. Reynolds Co., Inc. to construct the first phase of Epsom Park. This community hub will include a paved parking lot, a playground, multipurpose fields, picnic shelters, restrooms, and trails, all at a cost of $1,290,800. The project received additional support through a state grant that matched funds, contributing to a development aimed at enhancing the area's appeal.
Amid these developments, the Kerr Area Transportation Authority (KARTS) is not standing still, Executive Director Randy Cantor presented an overview of their operations and a vision for the future, highlighting the agency's role in ferrying residents across Franklin, Vance, Warren, and Granville Counties..
Franklin County is set to invest in projects aimed at improving its economic and community future. This includes industrial parks designed to create jobs and growth, as well as recreational spaces that promote community engagement. A groundbreaking for Epsom Park is expected later this year.
