Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. has been appointed to the National Association of Counties Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee. With his background as an attorney, Arrington represents District 5 and holds a new influential seat at NACo, where he will provide insights on legislative policies being formed in Washington D.C, according to a recent announcement by the county.
Arrington's role on the committee is a strategic platform for Fulton County, allowing the area to have a direct voice in national discussions on justice and public safety reforms. It's expected to also serve as a two-way conduit for knowledge and best practices between the federal landscape and the local community that Arrington represents. "This is a great opportunity to network and to bring the best policies from around the country back home to Fulton County," the District 5 Commissioner noted in a previous statement on the county's official website.
Bringing his legal expertise to the committee, Arrington is set to provide feedback that could shape decisions impacting communities across the nation, including those in Fulton County. The involvement in creating and revising legislation provides an opportunity for Arrington to address issues such as criminal justice reform, public safety concerns, and emergency management strategies from a policy-making perspective.
