In recognition of the contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the state of Georgia, Sen. Jason Anavitarte (R–Dallas) proudly kicked off National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed from September 15 to October 15. "Hispanic Heritage Month is a time for reflection as we celebrate the countless ways Hispanic Americans contribute to the success and growth of our state," Anavitarte said, acknowledging his own Hispanic lineage and expressing personal affinity toward the month's celebrations, according to the Georgia State Senate Press Office.
The Georgia lawmaker underscored the significant role Hispanic Americans play in the state's fabric, comprising roughly 10% of the population and emerging as one of the fastest-growing demographic groups. Their impact resonates across diverse sectors, including the U.S. military, small businesses, agriculture, education, transportation, the service industry, and other innovative endeavors, simultaneously driving the region's prosperity and fostering a multifaceted community.
Proceeding with the celebrations, Sen. Anavitarte conveyed a notable message to the youth: "As we reflect on our heritage and honor our past, it’s essential also to inspire future leaders." He emphasized unity and hard work as cornerstones vital for Georgia's enduring success, as mentioned in the Georgia State Senate Press Office.
Embracing the heritage and contributions of Hispanic Americans, Sen.
