Germantown has been the scene of an intensive investigation following a pair of arsons that struck the community in April. Authorities have now made an arrest. On September 14, after months of meticulous police work, 20-year-old Richard Sniezak was apprehended during a traffic stop and taken into federal custody, as report by FOX13 Memphis.
The two incidents, which have now led to federal charges, occurred within the vicinity of medical offices in Germantown. On April 5 and April 13, fires were set in the 7600 block of Wolf River Circle and the 1300 block of Cordova Cove, respectively. Both locations are part of an office park, largely populated by medical practices, and situated near the intersection of Germantown Road and Wolf River Boulevard, as highlighted by WREG. The federal indictment charges Sniezak with two counts of arson affecting interstate commerce.
Details surrounding the nature of the investigation and the eventual arrest of Sniezak emerged through official statements. "After months of investigation, a warrant was issued for Richard Sniezak," detailed a report from Action News 5. This development in the case has provided some relief to the Germantown community.
Following his arrest, a federal grand jury indicted Sniezak on the two counts, marking a significant advance in the case and suggesting the weight of evidence that has been compiled. Sniezak now faces serious charges, and if convicted, the repercussions could be significant.
