The tragic incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on the 7100 block of Crain Highway, claiming the life of 53-year-old Artur Tavor. According to a WBALTV report, Tavor was leaving a nearby business and was not inside a crosswalk when he walked into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet.

The initial response from authorities uncovered that after being struck by the Chevrolet, whose driver stayed at the scene, Tavor was also hit by a second vehicle. This vehicle, a dark SUV whose make and model remain unknown, failed to stop after the collision. Efforts to quickly identify and locate the SUV are ongoing. According to WMAR2 News, the police have appealed to anyone with information about the crash to come forward and contact the Traffic Safety Section at 410-222-8573.

Upon the arrival of emergency personnel at the scene, Tavor was pronounced dead.
