Following Hurricane Francine, Lafourche Parish courts are closed and services are rescheduled. Court dates between September 10 and 20 need to be rescheduled. A temporary setup for new appointments will be at 201 Green Street, Thibodaux, from September 16 to 20, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. If necessary, rescheduling will move to the child support lobby at 103 Maronge Street.
The Lafourche Parish District Attorney's announcement also notes significant storm damage to the courthouses and the Clerk of Court’s office, with closures effective from September 16 until at least September 20, and possibly beyond, as well as the establishment of a provisional Clerk of Court’s office operational through email during this interim period. For regular clerk-related services and election-related queries, the public is advised to contact [email protected] and [email protected], respectively.
In the effort to relay essential information on rescheduling criminal cases, the District Attorney’s Office has opened its lines and encourages individuals to call 985-447-2003 or, for those able to, to visit in person from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
The court system in Lafourche Parish may undergo further changes as recovery efforts continue, led by DA Kristine Russell, Clerk of Court Annette Fontana, Chief Judge Hugh Larose, and Chief District Defender Andrea Stentz.
