A recent shooting incident in Leadville has left a woman dead and a man hospitalized, local law enforcement officials reported. The Leadville Police Department, supported by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on August 31st. According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, upon their arrival, officers discovered a woman deceased from a gunshot wound and a male with an apparent gunshot injury.
The injured male was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to a facility in the Denver area. His current condition remains undisclosed. Authorities are working in cooperation with the 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office to piece together the circumstances surrounding the event. At this time, the names and the relationship of the individuals involved have not been released, but police have confirmed that the two persons were acquainted and lived in the home where the shooting occurred.
