Yesterday afternoon, Los Angeles firefighters tackled a brush fire in the Hollywood Hills, successfully containing the blaze before it could damage nearby homes. The incident occurred near 2530 E Cahuenga Blvd, where a hillside behind a residence had caught fire. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the fire was subdued within a sharp 28 minutes by a team of 36 firefighters.
The flames burned an area estimated to be between 1/8 and 1/4 of an acre. A wooden fence sustained minor damage, but no structural harm to the homes was reported, and there were no injuries. Firefighters managed to quickly deploy hose lines around both flanks of the fire, preventing its spread. "It took 36 firefighters to extinguish the flames in 28 minutes, keeping the fire from affecting structures on a nearby residential property," the LAFD reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and residents were spared from an otherwise potential disaster. The quick response of the LAFD was crucial in controlling the situation, ensuring that the fire did not escalate further. Fire crews utilized various resources including air operations and established lines around the fire to protect the structures.
Personnel on-scene from multiple battalions and divisions were involved in extinguishing the blaze, with trucks and tactical units orchestrating a coordinated assault on the flames.
