The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken into custody 32-year-old Deonte Rashavius Miller from Macon, charging him with a series of offenses related to armed robberies in Evans and Tattnall Counties. The charges against Miller include Armed Robbery, Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, according to a GBI press release.
Requests for investigative support by the GBI came following two robberies: one home invasion in Tattnall County on September 17, 2024, and a parking lot hold-up the next day at Claxton Poultry in Evans County. The two incidents signaled a disturbing pattern and, sparked fears of an emerging spree. Prior to these events, on September 16, 2024, two women were separately robbed after visiting the Xpress Food Mart-Chevron Gas Station in Claxton. One victim was accosted at her home, the other at her place of employment after both had been followed from the gas station.
Miller's apprehension is the result of combined efforts from the GBI agents and local Sheriff's offices in both Tattnall and Evans counties. As the investigation deepened, facts and evidence led authorities to identify him as the principal actor in both armed robberies. Following his arrest, Miller was booked into the Tattnall County Jail, awaiting further proceedings.
Further details are expected as the authorities continue their investigation. Once concluded, the case file will be handed over to the Atlantic Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. The cooperative investigative efforts underscore an ongoing commitment to public safety and the swift administration of justice in the communities affected by these criminal actions.
