The Metropolitan Police Department has made a second arrest in connection with a robbery that occurred in Southwest Washington earlier this summer. The incident, which took place on Saturday, July 6, unfolded early in the morning when the victim was reportedly accosted by suspects in the 500 block of C Street Southwest.
During the encounter, reported by MPD's press release, the suspects allegedly used force to steal property from the victim, who fortunately did not sustain any injuries. One suspect was apprehended at the scene by security personnel, while his accomplice managed to escape initially.
The detectives' investigation led to the arrest yesterday, of a 16-year-old male from Northeast, now charged with robbery. The arrest serves as a development in the case which had already seen an 18-year-old female from Southeast arrested and charged for her role in the same robbery on the day it occurred. Following the recent arrest, the MPD has not released further details about the juvenile in custody, citing protocol for minors. Authorities are still asking anyone with information about the robbery to come forward.
