The Metropolitan Police Department is currently conducting a homicide investigation following the tragic death of a one-year-old child in Northwest Washington, D.C. The young victim, identified as Journee Moore from Upper Marlboro, MD, was reported to have been in cardiac arrest when officers arrived at a residence in the 3700 block of Connecticut Avenue on Saturday evening.
According to a press release posted on the MPD's official website, emergency personnel quickly transported the child to a local hospital, where, despite extensive efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead. The investigation shifted direction on Sunday after the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner classified the death as a homicide, citing "multiple blunt force injuries" as the cause.
The Department is actively requesting information from the public that could help identify the individual or individuals responsible for this serious crime. To encourage tips, the MPD has announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
