According to the Metropolitan Police Department, on Monday afternoon, at about 3:41 p.m., a group of individuals confronted and assaulted victims in the 5500 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, Northeast.

During the incident, one of the suspects reportedly drew a firearm and together, with the others, proceeded to rob the victims of their belongings before fleeing the area. The Metropolitan Police are reaching out for assistance, and anyone with information on the suspects involved in the robbery, should proceed with caution and avoid direct action, instead, they are urged to contact the police with any tips they might have.

The MPDC has announced that a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for this serious offense. In their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators of such violent crimes within the District, the police are enlisting the help of residents and witnesses who may have been in the vicinity or possess knowledge pertinent to the case.
