
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking the public's assistance to identify the perpetrators of an armed robbery that unfolded in Southeast Washington, D.C. The incident, which involved the robbery of several victims and subsequent shooting of one victim, occurred in broad daylight on Saturday afternoon, authorities reported.
According to the police announcement, the robbery took place in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southeast, when the suspects, who remain at large, approached their targets at around 3:41 p.m. They swiftly proceeded to forcibly take away property from these individuals. In what seems to have been a sudden escalation, one of the suspects discharged a firearm, injuring one of the victims. The wounded individual was later transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Community cooperation is imperative in these investigations, and the MPD is urging anyone with information that could potentially lead to the identification of these suspects to come forward. Encouragingly, the department has announced a reward of up to $10,000 for tips directly contributing to the arrest and successful conviction of those responsible for this violent act.
