The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident that resulted in a fatality in Southeast D.C. early this morning. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched around 3:40 a.m. in response to reports of a traffic crash on the 4600 block of Livingston Road, Southeast.
Upon arrival, the officers found an empty vehicle stranded on the sidewalk and a man on the road, suffering from stab wounds. Despite the immediate surroundings, that hint at vehicular chaos, it was the inflicted punctures that claimed his life, there, on that tarmac stage where he drew his last. The man was pronounced dead at the scene before he could be transported to a facility where medical experts could attempt restoration.
MPD later identified the victim as 70-year-old Johnathan Reeves from Upper Marlboro, MD. Details about the circumstances leading up to the stabbing or potential suspects involved remain undisclosed as of the latest reports.
The department urges anyone with information to come forward. They've been instructed not to act on their knowledge, but rather relay what they know to authorities, for fear the tendrils of this tragedy might ensnare them too. As an incentive for help, the MPD offers up to $25,000 for information that assists in the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for this or any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
