The Metropolitan Police Department has issued a call for public assistance in identifying and locating a suspect linked to a recent burglary and misdemeanor sexual abuse incident. According to the official release from MPD, the suspect illegally entered a woman's apartment and subjected her to unwanted sexual contact before fleeing the scene.
The assault took place late at night on September 13, 2024, around 11:25 p.m., within an apartment situated on the 800 block of New Jersey Avenue, Northwest. The victim, thankfully, did not sustain injuries during the ordeal. The perpetrator is characterized as an unknown race male with short hair, standing roughly 5’7” tall, and last spotted wearing a black hoodie, gray pants, and white shoes.
In an effort to catch the individual responsible, authorities have turned to the community for help. They urge that if anyone possesses any relevant information pertaining to the incident, they should refrain from direct intervention but immediately contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Another option available for the public to discreetly submit information is by texting the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
