
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the public to help identify a suspect connected with an attempted armed robbery in Northeast, DC. According to a statement released by the MPD, the incident occurred on Friday, September 6, in the late afternoon.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., an individual approached a victim inside an establishment situated on the 1100 block of H Street, Northeast. The suspect was reported to have brandished a handgun, demanding to quickly receive everything in the register. However, the victim did not comply, and the suspect ultimately decided to flee the scene empty-handed.
Authorities are now reaching out to the community for help in identifying the suspect. The MPD has not advised residents to directly engage with the individual but rather to relay any pertinent information to the police. The department is offering a monetary incentive for assistance, with the promise of up to a $10,000 reward for information that successfully leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons behind this or any other violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
