Bookworms and tech enthusiasts, mark your calendars. The New Braunfels Public Library is leveling up its user experience with a new catalog software launching on October 22. According to the official library announcement, TLC’s Library Solution is all set to modernize how patrons interact with library resources, featuring a user-friendly and mobile-friendly interface, improved search functions, and a dedicated section for kids.
But the real game changer seems to be the mobile app component. "The highlight of the new catalog for the community is the smartphone app which brings the library right to your fingertips,” Cole Johnson, Director of New Braunfels Public Library, told the city's news outlet. An app that's intuitive and easy to use, it's promising to make browsing, researching, and reading as convenient as scrolling through your phone. For those attached to their old checkout history, users will need to backup their data before the switchover—the library has instructions on how to ensure your reading list isn't lost in the digital transition.
Starting October 22, library patrons will have to log in using their library card number. If you’re unsure of yours, you can check the back of your card, log in to the current catalog system before the transition, or give the library a ring at 830-221-4300. The importance of securing your card information can’t be overstated, as it's your key to the new digital realm of the library.
They're hosting two help sessions: one on October 7 at the Westside Library Meeting Room and another on October 11 at the Main Library Meeting Room. These are prime opportunities for one-on-one assistance from Library staff on snagging your card number or downloading your reading history.
