Drivers navigating Walnut Avenue in New Braunfels should prepare for a shift in their nighttime commutes starting September 16. The city-authorized repairs and resurfacing on the stretch from Landa Street to Business 35 are set to be carried out by Lone Star Paving, as announced in a statement by the City of New Braunfels. To ease the potential burden on the daily hustle, all construction work is slated to unfurl solely during the night hours.
The strategy to keep things moving entails alternating the traffic to use either the eastbound or westbound lanes while the other side is under construction. This arrangement is expected to quickly administer repairs with minimal disturbance, despite the inherent challenge to safely coordinate traffic amidst the overhaul. The city and contractors aim to arise on the other side of these nine nights (weather willing) with a smoother, more reliable Walnut Avenue for all.
According to the information provided by the City of New Braunfels, the resurfacing project is part of a greater initiative to enhance infrastructure and public safety. By keeping the work nocturnal, project managers intend to mitigate the often taxing delays and hazards that can accompany roadwork. Local businesses and residents have been notified and signs will soon appear to inform through-travelers of the impending schedule.
