Officials were called to the scene of a shooting in the 400 block of 50th Street, Northeast, where they discovered a man, later identified as 44-year-old James Price, with a fatal gunshot wound. Price, who reportedly had no fixed address, was found unresponsive in an alley. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, DC Fire and EMS pronounced him dead after finding no signs consistent with life.
The investigation is still underway as detectives piece together the events leading up to the shooting. The MPD is actively seeking information from the public regarding this incident.
