On Thursday morning, Novato Police responded to an attempted burglary, leading to the arrest of two men allegedly found with tools commonly used in break-ins. According to the Novato Police Department's report, officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a tip about individuals in dark clothing yielding a hammer.
The suspects, identified as Jesse Jones, 38, of Petaluma, and Kyle Jones, 36, of Santa Rosa, were detained as they tried to leave the vicinity; they were also in possession of incriminating items like ski masks, gloves, and a headlamp, moreover, a nearby stash of bolt cutters was discovered during the investigation. There was noticeable damage to a window of an apartment complex, which added to the suspicion and the immediacy of their arrest.
The police commended community members for their quick action in reporting the incident and the officers for their role in what was described as a safe intervention. The police emphasized the importance of vigilance, particularly at night, reminding Novato residents to stay alert and report any dubious activities.
