On Wednesday afternoon, a theft at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center's Target led to the apprehension of a 62-year-old San Rafael man, George Gains. According to the Novato Police Department, undercover detectives and uniformed officers were conducting an operation when Target Loss Prevention employees tipped them off regarding the burglary.

The report detailed that, around 2:30 PM, after the theft, the team was able to quickly identify and locate Gains, who was attempting to leave the area. Gains was found in possession of merchandise valued over $950, which was subsequently returned to Target.
