A theft victim recovered their stolen property with a little digital sleuthing and the assistance of the San Rafael Police Department (SRPD). The stolen items, valued at over $10,000, had been missing since March after they disappeared from an Oakland construction site.
According to the San Rafael Police Department, the owner located their property, clearly identified by the company's metal identification tags, listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. In a curious twist of fate, or rather a bold move, the victim arranged to meet the sellers under the guise of buying the items back. The rendezvous was set for a shopping center in San Rafael, where, unbeknownst to the suspects, SRPD officers were ready to pounce.

As the officers observed from a distance, the suspects arrived and flaunted the stolen goods upon opening their trunk. That's when law enforcement moved, detaining the two individuals at the scene. The recovery of the property was a relief for the owner and was punctuated by the additional discovery that one of the suspects had illegal narcotics, adding another layer to their forthcoming legal troubles. Both suspects were subsequently arrested and now face charges, booked into the Marin County Jail.
