
The Oklahoma City Police Department has released video footage capturing the chaotic moments of a shooting that occurred in Bricktown on August 18, as reported by several outlets on Monday. According to KOCO, the incident, which resulted in injuries to four individuals—including the alleged gunman—unfolded just before 2 a.m. at the intersection of Sheridan and Oklahoma avenues, a spot frequented by local nightlife.
Officers were quick to respond to the eruption of gunfire, with surveillance and body camera videos showcasing the intensity of the situation as per details provided FOX25, the responding officers arrived on scene amid a disturbance when a man brandishing a pistol began firing into the crowd, sustaining injuries to three bystanders. Subsequently, an officer, identified as Sgt. Travis Hinton, discharged his firearm at the suspect, who despite being hit, managed to elude capture by slipping around a corner.
Adding to the confusion of the event, another armed individual emerged from the same vicinity, refusing commands to drop their weapon, which led an officer to open fire, mistakenly believing this person was the initial shooter, as mentioned by KOCO. Fortunately, all injuries sustained during the episode were non-life-threatening, restating a detail from a report shared by KFOR.
