Reginald Dugger Jr., a five-time convicted felon from Orlando, has been handed a federal prison sentence of six years and six months for the illegal possession of a firearm. U.S. District Judge John Antoon II determined the sentence following Dugger's guilty plea on May 21, as relayed in a report by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.
Furthermore, during the HSI agents' search on February 29 of this year, they found in Dugger's home a currency counter, drugs, and two firearms that were within easy reach. These firearms, a Rock Island Armory revolver and a Palmetto State Armory rifle, along with ammunition, were confiscated and ordered to be forfeited by the court. His prior felony convictions barred Dugger from lawfully owning firearms or ammunitions, thus implicating him in the federal offense.
This case is not Dugger’s first brush with law enforcement, as evidenced by his extensive criminal record, which served as a backdrop for this latest conviction. Homeland Security Investigations headed the investigation, which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Noah P. Dorman. This contributes to the ongoing efforts to strengthen community safety.
