An Orlando man, identified as 36-year-old Theron Charles Lord, has admitted to charges of enticing a minor into sexual activity and producing child sexual abuse materials. As reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida, Lord's guilty plea means he is now facing a hefty prison sentence, with a minimum mandatory penalty of 15 years and the potential of life in prison for the production of child abuse material, and an additional minimum of 10 years for enticement, also up to life. As part of his plea, Lord will be forfeiting the cell phone he employed to commit these crimes.
Details released in the plea agreement reveal that Lord began his contact with the 15-year-old victim online, their connection birthed and maintained through social media platforms. The exchange of messages, which started in March and continued until August 2022, rapidly devolved into a sexual nature. Theron Charles Lord decided to cruelly meet the minor in April 2022, marking the beginning of repeated sexual abuses spread over at least six encounters through November 2022, during which he recorded the misconduct. Lord also coerced the child into producing and sending videos of the abuse.
According to a statement by the United States Attorney’s Office, the case fell under the scrutiny of Homeland Security Investigations and the Rockledge Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson is at the helm of the prosecution. Lord's severity and the subsequent legal response underscore the serious nature of offenses involving the exploitation of minors.
