An Orlando resident, Dainton Drummond, age 62, has been sentenced to federal prison for a term totaling 15 months for illegally possessing a firearm, with the sentence set to follow another penalty imposed by the Superior Court of Arizona, as reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida. U.S. District Judge John Antoon II, in addition to the prison term, ordered the forfeiture of the firearm confiscated from Drummond upon his arrest.

The incident that led to this sentence occurred on September 17, 2023, when deputies were called to South Hiawassee Road and Hunterdon Drive in response to Drummond driving under the influence upon his arrest and his request to have his vehicle towed, deputies discovered a loaded Hi-Point 9mm pistol inside subsequent federal charges revealed that he, a Jamaican citizen with multiple felonies to his name, had been living unlawfully in the United States under the assumed name "Anselmo Lionel Jackson."

Pursued by various agencies, including the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Drummond pleaded guilty to the possession charge on April 30. Assistant United States Attorney Michael Sartoian has been managing the prosecution process.
