An Orlando man has been sentenced to just over ten years in federal prison for his involvement with child sex abuse material. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Lucio Daza Marquez, 73, received a sentence of 10 years and one month for charges related to the possession and receipt of such material.
Marquez's conviction came after an undercover FBI operation pinpointed an IP address that was distributing child sex abuse images, which was then traced back to him. Upon searching his residence, FBI agents found multiple files that depicted the sexual abuse of minors on various electronic devices, including a laptop and external hard drives. During an execution of a search warrant at Marquez’s residence, agents interviewed Marquez, and he admitted to downloading the abhorrent material.
In a troublesome revelation during the investigation, Marquez divulged to FBI agents that his history of viewing child sex abuse material spanned nearly a decade, with a disturbing preference for images of girls around the age of 12, as well as videos involving the abuse of even younger children, including infants, the Department of Justice reported.
