Osceola County Fire Service will soon see a significant upgrade with the groundbreaking of a new station. According to the Osceola County press release, officials and project partners gathered to mark the initiation of construction for Fire Station 71's new abode. The new station, poised on Westside Boulevard, takes over from the older structure on West U.S. Highway 192, promising to amplify the station’s response capabilities and support for its jurisdiction.
"This groundbreaking represents the County's ongoing commitment to public safety," Fire Chief Larry Collier remarked in the county's press release. The new setup reflects strategic long-term planning aimed at bolstering the community's service level and accommodating prospective growth. The plan highlights the necessity of placing fire stations in efficient locales and constructing them to meet the evolving needs of the fire services and their equipment.
Among those in attendance at the ceremonial sod-turning were Osceola County's leaders, joined by delegates from Arnco Construction, the project's builders, Ardmore Roderick overseeing the project's planning, and BRPH, the architects charting the project's structural blueprint.
The public is directed to Osceola County Fire Rescue & EMS's website for more information regarding their services and updates.
