Following his escape, Burks was on the radar of multiple law enforcement agencies, and it was the alert observation of an Oxford Police officer stationed on Highway 6 that led to his arrest; this officer, while stationed on Highway 6 noticed a vehicle that matched the suspect’s vehicle description, thus prompting the traffic stop that led to Burks's arrest. Burks is now facing charges of felony fleeing in a motor vehicle and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, as Action News 5 reports.
