A 21-year-old defendant was sentenced to a decade behind bars for engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a minor and possessing a cache of sexually explicit images of children. Skyler Strahan will spend the next 10 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections, with the shadow of a lifetime probation lingering thereafter, according to the Pinal County Attorney's Office.

The Pinal County Superior Court, presided over by Judge Jason Holmberg, handed down the sentence on September 23, after Strahan pled guilty to multiple felonies, including Sexual Conduct with a Minor, described as a Class Six Felony, and two counts pertaining to Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, categorized as a Class Two and Class Three Felony respectively, as reported by the Pinal County Attorney's Office.

Back in June 2023, the Apache Junction Police Department initiated an investigation following a tip-off about the possible sexual exploitation of a minor who was under 16 years of age at the time. The investigation led to the forensic examination of the juvenile's phone, which yielded incriminating conversations and images between her and Strahan. During interrogation, Strahan conceded his awareness of the victim's age, which fell below Arizona's legal age of consent.

A subsequent search warrant executed on Strahan's residence unearthed additional material — a trove of child sexual exploitation imagery.
