Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced that a man wanted on multiple charges has been apprehended in Pittsburgh's Hill District. Detectives captured 31-year-old Nicholas Lomax of Duquesne without incident. Lomax has been evading justice since July. Lomax had been avoiding the law for months, but his run ended today. He had bench warrants in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties for probation violations and active warrants for fleeing police, strangulation, and making threats. According to Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus, these warrants came from Monroeville and Duquesne.
Today, detectives working on a different case spotted two people on Dinwiddie Street. They find out these people are waiting to give Lomax a ride to escape. The detectives then entered a nearby house, found Lomax, and arrested him.
Lomax has been transported to the Allegheny County Jail, where he will face the charges brought against him. With his capture, a brief but intense chapter in local law enforcement's efforts to keep the community safe has calmly concluded. More updates are awaited as Lomax moves through the legal proceedings concerning his alleged crimes.
